I decided to put this together for anyone interested in customizing / building their mechanical keyboards~
The mechanical keyboard community can be quite overwhelming to dive into initially. There are a many different types of keyboard sizes, different layouts, keycap types and even types of switches.
Hopefully this will help provide a good jumping off point to get you started.

RAMA WORKS
Keyboards / Keycaps
My favorite keyboard designer / manufacturer. This is basically a ‘designer brand’ keyboard. These are very expensive and sold in limited quantity. You typically have to wait 9-12 months for production to happen on Aluminum boards.. Injection molded ones typically are produced much faster. I do not recommend this as a first board.
NOVEL KEYS
Keyboards / Keycaps / Switches / Deskmats
I love Novel Keys for deskmats, switches and keycaps. They also have some very nice, more affordable keyboard options. My only complaint about them is their shipping options are always overpriced (for being in the US).
OMNITYPE

This is another site with a lot of different keyboard stuff to purchase. I want to purchase their GMK Modo Light set as soon as it is back in stock..
KBD FANS

Another great place to find a whole assortment of keycaps, switches, keyboards and other thinks you might need. Many items on here are ‘group buys’ and will be purchased in advance of the item being produced / manufactured. Expect some long wait times for these~

Cannon Keys is a great spot for keycaps I haven’t ordered anything from them (yet), but I have my eye on a few sets here as soon as they come back in stock…
